Richmond police probe shooting of local rapper

Rene Garcia, who used the handle "Lil' G" while rapping about life and his escapades in North Richmond, died behind a fence near the park's basketball courts about 7 p.m. Patrol officers found him there shortly after numerous reports of gunfire at the park that began at 6:47 p.m., Detective Nicole Abetkov said.
